*Bad Reputation* (Chapter 11)

Nothing to say, but thanks is you honestly read this and Happy Valentine’s Day ;-)
*************************
Hayley lie in bed staring at the ceiling; feeling weak, empty, broken, and so fragile but showed no emotion on her face what so ever. You would have never guessed that there was so much hurt running though her veins at the moment. She felt as if she had no one to turn to; her grandparents were just as broken as she was, and she didn’t want to constantly remind them as they tried to stay strong for her.
Josh had called numerous times, but Hayley avoided him at all cost by simply ignoring his calls. She’d lock her bedroom door anytime she’d hear his voice downstairs after being invited into the house by her grandparent’s. Josh would knock on the door a few times, and tell her that he never wanted to hurt her, and that Jenna meant nothing to him. But Hayley didn’t want to hear it she wanted nothing to do with him; he had hurt her, when she needed him the most. She had decided that no apology would ever excuse what she saw that day…
“Hayley?” Hayley hears a soft voice outside her bedroom door. She knows it’s her grandmother, but still she couldn’t bring herself to respond; after all she hadn’t spoken to anyone in two whole weeks. Her grandmother enters the room; carefully and takes a seat next to Hayley on the bed. “I know you’re not feeling very well, but you have to go to school today sweetheart.” Mrs. Williams places a hand on her granddaughters shoulder.
Hayley nodded, but doesn’t say a word. She knew this day would come, but wished it would have come later time; she wanted to avoid all the: I’m sorry’s, all the sympathy from people who didn’t even know her mother, because it would only remind her that she’d never see her mother living and breathing ever again. But mostly she wanted to avoid him…
“Maybe you could call on of your friends to pick you up. Your grandfather and I don’t really want you driving right now.” Her grandmother moves a few stray pieces of hair from her face. Once again Hayley only nods, her eyes wondering over to the alarm clock on her nightstand. She had an hour and half to get ready for school, so she wasn’t in a rush to get ready.
***************
Running his fingers though his short brown hair, Josh pushes the covers aside, throwing his heavy legs over the side of his bed. ‘Time to face another long miserable day, without the girl he loved.” Josh thought to himself hitting the off button on his alarm clock that went off later than expected.
After showering, Josh pulls on a simple plain black hoodie, skinnies, and plain black vans. Anyone that didn’t know him would have thought he was some type of emo kid. Josh then walks over to the window and to no surprise Hayley’s car was still in the drive way, which meant once again she wouldn’t be attending school. So he thought, just as Josh turned away from the window, the sound of music from outside stops him. Josh turns back to the window just in time to see Hayley smiling getting into Alex’s car.
That really made Josh’s blood boil. He quickly pulled his phone from his pocket and called Hayley, but she didn’t answer of course, after the eighth call he gave up, knowing there was no use, without talking to Hayley face to face, and that what he’d do if it was the last thing he’d do today.
Josh waited impacitently at the end of his driveway for Taylor show up, and drive him to school. Taylor was actually the only of his friends that was still speaking to him after he had explained everything to them. Jeremy was so pissed that he was nearly ready to kill him, but stopped because Kat told him it’s not what Hayley would really want. And Josh was sure she wouldn’t, if only she’d let me explain.
“I can’t believe she’s hanging out with Gaskrath.” Josh snapped at Taylor.
“Dude calm down, he’s probably only giving her a ride to school.” Taylor suggested.
“Come on Tay, you’ve known Alex longer than I have; the way he is around her, and now she fragile and so vulnerable; I just know he’ll find a way to take advantage if her.”
“Seriously Josh your being paranoid, Alex and Hayley are only friends, and if you feel that way about the situation, and you really love Hayley, then go and win her back.” Taylor finishes just as they reached the school.
“It’s not that easy Tay.” Josh signs running his finger though his messy hair he decided not to bother fixing. Thinking what was the use he had no one to impress now that he and Hayley were most likely over.
“Look Josh if you really love Hayley then I’ll help you get her back, but you better not be lying about what happened, or Jeremy want be the only one you’ll have to worry about wanting to kick your ass.” Taylor says with no hint of joking in him.
Josh shrugs. “I’m not lying T.”
“Just leave her alone, until I can have a word with her at lunch.” Taylor says before he and Josh climbs out of his car. Taylor is greeted by his friends, while Josh stood next to him glancing around the parking lot searching for Alex’s car, but it never showed up. He even waited a few extra minutes after the bell had rung.
Josh was shocked to see a certain red head already at her desk when he arrived to first period. Maybe she and Alex had showed up earlier, and parked around back he thought to himself as a pleasant smile formed on his lips. He never realized that he we were staring at Hayley until his teacher spoke, breaking his trances
“Mr.Farro if you’re done admiring Ms. Williams, then please take a seat, I would like to start class soon.” Josh blushes bright red, as half the class laughed, and the rest Awwwe. Hayley wants to laugh along with the class, but she simply stares straight ahead not wanting to give Josh any hint that she has or will forgive him.
Josh takes the only available seat next to Hayley. All he wants to do is say sorry and beg for forgiveness, but he remembers what Taylor had told him. Though out the remainder of class Josh constantly glances in Hayley’s direction, but doesn’t say a word. He wishes he could hold her hand under the desk like they did in all the classes they had together the short period of time they dated, but her doesn’t. The only time Josh spoke was to ask if he could use a pencil, and just as expected Hayley didn’t respond.
When class finally ended Josh followed Hayley though the crowed, to their next class neither said a word, not even when Josh’s hand slightly touched her’s. It was like it didn’t even phase her. Hayley took her usual seat in the back row, and Josh followed.
By the end of class Josh was finding it remotely impossible to keep himself from dropping down on his knees and apologize to Hayley in front of everyone. He hated the fact that she wasn’t speaking to him, and the fact that she hadn’t smiled of even looked his way.
The bell rings ending class once more, once out in the hallway; Josh somehow manage to lose sight of the red head that was only a few feet in front of him. He Josh walked to his locked shoving his books inside and headed straight to the cafeteria….
“Hey shorty, how’s it going?” Hayley half smiles realizing it was only Alex.
“Good, how about yourself?” Hayley flirts wrapping her arm around Alex’s waist, as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders. “Alex was slightly shocked. Was Hayley really flirting back at him? As long as he’s known Hayley she had never flirted with him back. She would normally laugh it off and push him away.
“Pretty good.” Smiles down at her.
“Can I sit with you today, you know alone?” Hayley asked.
“Yeah, sure.” Alex smirked pulling Hayley over to an empty table, waving his friends off, as they waved him over to come sit with them.
“Just leave them Josh.” Taylor says as Josh was about to stand and go over to the table where Alex and Hayley sat, as he saw Alex kiss Hayley’s cheek.
“I can’t believe she’s doing this, with him of all people.” Josh snapped, slamming his fist against the lunch table.
“Why do you care, you can do what you want, and kiss who you want, so why can’t she? Kat asked angrily.
“I didn’t kiss Jenna, she kissed me.” Josh snapped.
“Yeah Just like Tessa kissed you as well. Right?” Sabrina added.
“I didn’t kiss either of them; I would never intentionally hurt Hayley, I can’t believe you don’t trust me.” Josh snaps pushing himself away from the table, and quickly exited the cafeteria, making sure to throw a glare in Hayley and Alex’s direction.
“What crawled up his ass?” Alex chuckled noticing Josh storming out of the cafeteria. Hayley shrugs and turns back to her food. Hayley hated the way she was acting towards Josh, but she wanted him to hurt just as much as she was.
Hayley glanced at the time, ten minutes and lunch would be over and Josh hadn’t returned. Was I really worried about Josh?” Hayley thought. She wasn’t worried about him harming himself, but she did care for no matter what he had done to her. No one could just turn off the feelings they’ve grown for someone they could possibly love.
Hayley thought maybe she was overreacting about the Josh situation; she never even got to hear his side of the story after all. “Alex can you excuse me?” Hayley asked five minutes before the lunch was to leave.
“Yeah, see you later; if you need a ride home just let me know?” Alex smirked, placing a kiss on the corner of Hayley’s lips.”
“C…slut” Tessa coughed as Hayley came near her table. Hayley flips Tessa’s whole table off and continues walking out.
Hayley had nearly searched the entire school for Josh, and saw no sign of him, maybe he had left. The bell sounds ending lunch and starting the next class made Hayley end her search, bust still she wanted to hear Josh’s side of the story before she’s ever consider getting back together with him.
The remainder of class went by increasingly slow, most of Hayley’s time was spent doodling in her notebook and jotting down random lyrics. Hayley also had become more worried about Josh; he had never showed up to class. Hayley sighed at the sound of the finally bell. Quickly she threw her backpack very her shoulder and exited the class.
A smile appears on Hayley’s lips as she spot her friends, whom she hadn’t spoken to all day. “Hi guys.”
“Wow didn’t know we were still worth enough to be in your presents.” Jeremy snaps playfully.
“I’m sorry guys; I just didn’t want to come around with him there.” Hayley hinted.
“I guess you’re forgiven.” Jeremy rolls his eyes.
“Have you even spoken to Josh, you know get his side of the story.” Taylor asked.
“Why are you rooting for him Taylor, he cheated on her twice.” Sabrina spat.
“No, I’ve actually been looking for him since lunch, have any of you seen him?” Hayley asked ignoring Sabrina’s last comment.
“I think he just went into the senior restroom.” Taylor says. I nod and head in that direction after saying bye to the gang. The senior restroom was the restroom on main hall that only seniors used, guys and girls, but mainly it was for hooking up, but we all know hooking up in that rest room would give you a bad reputation if anyone ever found out about it. Likewise you’d be known as one of the many whores that attend our school.
“Excuse me.” I snapped at Tessa two clones as they stood blocking the door.
“As you wish.” Mandy smirked, as she and Mindy stepped aside.
“Josh I know you like me, when are you going to stop playing games with that red headed freak.” A familiar voice speaks from around the corner, instantly making Hayley stop in her tracts...
“Tess I don’t want you, I never did.” An even familiar voice speaks.
“So you used me to make Hayley Jealous like the day you wanted me to kiss you in her car.” Hayley doesn’t hear a thing after that but a muffle voice. She takes a step around the corner to see Tessa and Josh all over each other.
“I knew it.” Hayley shouted. Josh and Tessa break apart.
“Hayley it’s not….”
Save it Josh, you and I are over, and to think I was going to let you explain…” Hayley spat and stormed out of the restroom with Josh running after her trying to explain.
“Hey Hayles what’s wrong.” Alex asks noticing Hayley coming his way. Hayley doesn’t say word; she crashes her lips into his. With little hesitation Alex begins to kiss her back.
“Let’s go babe.” Hayley pants heavily braking there kiss. Alex smirks purposely bumping his shoulder into Josh to get by.
Josh stood there dumb founded; wondering what in the hell had just happened ?
