*Bad Reputation* (Chapter 13)

First off I am so sorry about taking so long with this update, and you all are awesome. Hope you’ll enjoy 8)

“Hayley why is your dress wet in the back? Mrs. Farro asked as she followed after both Josh and Hayley who smirked and held each other’s hand, before Mrs. Farro spoke, which turned their smirks into frowns….
Had they been caught…?
***********************
Uhmmmm….Hayley stalls glancing at Josh as she tried to think of something to say. Josh grandmother had not idea that Hayley and Josh were dating, if she did she defiantly would not approve, but Josh’s grandfather on the other hand knew the first time he caught them making out in Josh’s bedroom. And Hayley’s grandparent’s had their suspicion, but never said a thing; for the simple fact that they didn’t mind. Hayley glances back at Mrs. Farro, still not knowing what to say. She knew she couldn’t tell the truth, about her walking in on a naked Josh fresh out of the shower, or him holding her in his arms while he was half naked and slightly damp…
Hayley reached behind her placing her hand on her lower back. “Oh gosh I guess I haven’t notice.” Josh stares at Hayley thinking man this girl is good, she could seriously be an actress. “This is so embarrassing. I get a little sweaty when I’m nervous.” Hayley cover’s her face with her hands, pretending to be embarrassed. Josh’s grandmother turns up her nose in disgust while Hayley isn’t looking, however Josh does catch it, and slightly glares at her.
“Well dinner is ready you two, but Hayley you should probably go home and get changed.” Mr.Farro says before she makes her way downstairs leaving Hayley and Josh alone.
“Ouch… what was that for?” Josh gasp as Hayley, punched his shoulder.
“You did this! You ruined my dress, and almost got us caught. You know your grandmother hates me” Hayley says seriously.
“I’m sorry, I can’t keep my hands off you; you’re just so damn irresistible.” Josh chuckles placing his hands on each side of Hayley waist; gently pushing her against the wall next to his bedroom door. A small smile crept onto Hayley lips as she stares into Josh’s chocolate brown eyes almost hypnotized. Hayley’s emerald green eyes finally breaks there stair from Josh’s chocolate brown ones as she glances down at Josh’s inviting lushes lips; that began to inch closer to her own.
Hayley’s eyes flutter shut, as her lips pucker; feeling Josh’s warm breath against her lips. Josh smirks as he places a kiss on Hayley’s cheek then quickly pulls away to get gimps of her face, why did she have to be so damn adorable Josh thought to himself, using his index finger to tap the tip of her nose.
At that moment Hayley’s eyes popped open. “Disappointed?” Josh chuckled.
“I’ll get you back Joshua Neil, if it’s the last thing I do” Hayley winks places her hand on Josh’s chest’ pushing him away before she turned to walk down stairs. After explaing to her grandparent’s about what had happened to her dress Hayley quickly went home to change, before making her way back to the Farro’s house; were an interesting topic came up: The Paris trip that’s only three months away.
Of course Hayley’s grandparent’s agreed to let her go as long as she stayed out of trouble. Josh grandparent also agreed to let him go as well; as long as he earned enough money to pay his own way; hinting that he needed a Job. But that didn’t bother Josh he knew his parent’s would easily send him the money.
The remainder of dinner was spent engaging in small talk, amongst the adults, while Hayley and Josh constantly flirted with each other without saying a word out loud; only a few whisper here and there when one or the other would get a little too inappropriate with their hands under the dinner table.
Josh also insisted on walking Hayley home to make sure she was safe even though her grandparents were with her. The two stayed a few feet behind for a little privacy, which consisted of nothing more holding each other’s hand.
“So do you think I could maybe get a ride to school tomorrow, or do I have to aggregate Taylor again?” Josh questions once Hayley’s grandparent’s had went inside their home to give the young couple their privacy.
“Depends?” Hayley smirks wrapping her arms around Josh’s neck.
“On?” Josh pushed.
“How good of a kisser you are.” Hayley says crashing her lips into Josh’s before he had a chance to respond. Josh’s arms instantly snake their way around Hayley’s waist pulling her closer, if it was even possible. Hayley moans in excitement feeling Josh’s tongue brush against her lips seeking an entrance, but Hayley doesn’t comply. Instead Hayley pulls away leaving Josh disappointed and confused.
“W… what’s… wrong.” Josh manage to say once he was thinking straight again.
“Nothing, I told you I’d get you back.” Hayley smirks petting Josh’s shoulder, before pushing the front door to her house open.
Josh lets out a light chuckle, licking his lips in the process. “Goodnight babe.” He says softly, pecking Hayley on the lips once more before heading back home.
“Goodnight Josh.” Hayley mutters softly knowing that by now he wouldn’t hear her, seeing how he was already back in his own yard.
“Uhmmmm.” Hayley’s head snaps in the direction of her grandmother who was now seated on the couch reading one of her lovey dovey romance novels. “I saw that?” Hayley’s grandmother says as Hayley pushes the door close.
“What? Josh and I are just….” Hayley starts, but her grandmother cuts her off
“Don’t worry about it honey, I’m happy for you two.”Mrs. Williams smile at her granddaughter.
“Thanks, grandma but please don’t say anything to Mrs. Farro. “Hayley says the last bit more to herself, knowing that her grandmother would ask why.
“Why that’s the matter?” Her grandmother question’s just as she thought.
“I don’t know, I just feel that she thinks I’m not good enough for Josh.” Hayley takes a seat on the couch next to her grandmother.
“Awwwe honey, you are a beautiful, intelligent young lady and you are good enough, don’t you ever let anyone tell you different.” Mrs. Williams pulled her granddaughter into a hug.
“Thanks grandma.” Hayley hugs her grandmother back before saying goodnight and heads to bed.
*********************************
Hayley smiles brighter than sun as she took in how beautiful the morning was from her open window. For some reason today seemed so perfect, and it wasn’t just because of the nice weather. She didn’t over sleep as she usually did, she had gotten her hair and makeup just right and found the perfect outfit on the first try. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she and Josh had made up, and that she looked forward to seeing him. Yes that was most likely it.
After a nice breakfast and saying bye to her grandparent’s Hayley started up her car, and waited patiently for Josh to join her, so that they could get to school on time. But after ten minutes Hayley’s patients had grown thin. What in god’s name could be taking him so long? Hayley though to herself as she climbed from her car, and made her way to the Farro’s front door. There she rang door bell and knocked on the door for almost a five minute before Mr.Farro answered the door still in his pajamas.
“Hello Hayley dear what can I do for you?” Mr.Farro asks.
“Sorry for bother you so early Mr.Farro, but I was wondering if Josh had already left for school, I’ve been waiting for him for almost ten minutes and he has yet to show up.” Mr.Farro thought for a moment, he wasn’t really sure himself, however before he could respond, there came Josh sluggishly down the stairs.
“Sorry I overslept.” Josh says tiredly. “Good morning grandpa.” Josh adds. His grandfather sleepily mutters something, before closing the door.
“Morning beautiful.” Josh says tiredly pulling Hayley into a hug, and placing a kiss on her forehead.
“Morning sleepyhead.” Hayley giggles; wraps her arm around Josh waist as they made their way across the street to her car. “Wow you sure are tired.” Hayley says once they’re in the car.
“Yeah my folks called last night….” Josh yawns. “So that meant I had to speak with everyone for like two hours.
“Geeez what time did you go to bed?”
“Around 2Am.” Josh yawns once more laying his head against the headrest.
“Awwwe my poor baby.” Hayley giggled leaning over and placing a kiss on the corner of Josh’s lip before backing out of the driveways. The ride to school had become quiet considering Josh had dosed off the minute he and Hayley hit the road....
***********************
Ms. Williams, Mr.Farro you’re late!” Mr. Allen Hayley and Josh’s first period English literature teacher stops his discussion with his class to inform the two on the obvious. Neither of them paid attention, they just took theirs usual seats in the back. The remainder of class was a bore, Josh had fallen asleep half way through class as well as a few of his classmates. Hayley on the other hand didn’t really care, she spent most of her time scribbled random thoughts in her notebook from song lyrics to her thoughts about Josh.
As the bell rang Hayley gave Josh a light shove to wake him up. Josh groans sitting up; he shoves his unopened books into his backpack. He and Hayley then scramble out of the class along with everyone else. The two made their way to their second class that had went by just as slow, and was just as boring as the first one.
Lunch had finally rolled around, and Hayley was nervous that Alex would be there, while Josh was nervous about what their friends would say about his and Hayley’s on again relationship. Just Josh suspected Jeremy and the other’s stare at him and Hayley confused, and Hayley noticed.
“What?” Hayley smiles shyly.
“You two are back together?” Sabrina was the first out of the group to bravely speak as Hayley and Josh took a seat after getting their lunch.
Hayley blushes and nods, Josh wrapping his around Hayley’s shoulder and places a kiss on the side of her head. Jeremy glares at Josh , but doesn’t say a word, knowing that they would have a little talk later on.
“Well that’s great.” Taylor puts an end to the topic “So have you heard the good news Taylor adds.
“What news?” Both Hayley and Josh say in sync.
“Jer got us another gig, and it’s totally legit this time.” Taylor continues.
“Seriously.” Hayley glanced at Jeremy excitedly.
“Yeah, some kid saw one of our performances on tubular page and he wants us to perform at her sixteenth birthday, but the best part is? Well you’re not going to believe this?” Jeremy smirks.
“What?” Hayley beams with excitement written all over her face.
“The kid, his dad is the owner of Fueled by Ramen record label. Maybe if were good enough they’ll give us a record deal. Hayley squealed in excitement, and roughly kisses Josh on the lips not caring that anyone saw, but Hayley’s excitement was cut short once she spotted Alex, Jack and the other’s coming over.
“What’s up?” Jack shouted taking a seat next to Taylor, as everyone one else pulled up a seat from another table. Hayley could tell that Alex was still definitely pissed, he had greeted all of her friends with the exception of her and Josh.
“Uhmmmm I think Josh and I are going to go, but I’ll see you all later.” Hayley suddenly says, standing to her feet and taped Josh’s shoulder. Josh glances at her confused, but nods and stands as Hayley gives him an ‘I’ll explain later look.”
“Band practices my house, at six!” Jeremy shouts as the two walk away.
“Where are we going?” Josh asked once they had managed to escape the noisy crowded lunchroom.
“A place where you can get some sleep.” Hayley smirks pulling Josh though the empty hallway.
“Oh no, I am not going out there again.” Josh says as Hayley had led him to the end of the hallway, just as she did the first day of school.
“Awwwe don’t be a baby, it’s actually a really nice place.” Hayley reassured. Josh decides not to argue, knowing that he could really use an hour of sleep.
“Dose anyone other than you friends know about this place?” Josh asks curiously as Hayley fished the small silver key from her pocket.
“No only Jer, Tay, Kat, Sabrina, you and me.
“So none of the other kids know?”
“I them think some my know that the house is here, but they don’t know how cool it is on the inside, so they just ignore it.” Hayley finally pushes the door open. Josh follows closely behind Hayley as she enters the old house.
“Have you ever been upstairs?” Josh question staring at the spiraling stairs.
“Yeah that’s where we’re going.” Hayley takes Josh hand.
“These stared don’t look exactly safe Hayles.”
“Trust me they are, Jeremy myself and the other spent one summer fixing all the broking things and even moved a few of our own personal things in. This is my room.” Hayley pushed the chipped red painted door open. Josh glances around the room in shocked. Hayley was right it wasn’t that bad after all. The walls were covered in almost if not more than one hundred band posters. Orange curtains that draped over the windows, a yellow bean-bag chair in the corner next to an old record player. There was also a mattress lying on the clean old wooden floor, with two pillow and a thing blanket.
“This is actually pretty nice.” Josh says walking farther into the room.
“Thanks I decorated it myself.” Hayley smiles taking a seat on the mattress and pats the spot next to her, waiting for Josh to join her.
“So what are we going to do here?” Josh wiggled his eyebrows.
“Not what you have in mind, Mr. Nasty.” Hayley giggles pushing Josh away.
“I know, but it doesn’t hurt to try.” Josh lies back resting his head on one of the pillows, before pulling Hayley against him. Hayley rest’s her head on Josh’s chest. It was song before Josh had dosed off, and for a while Hayley just laid there listening to Josh heartbeat, and watched the way his chest slowly raised and fell. Soon she found herself dosing off, before sleep eventually took her.
***************
Josh awaking to the sound of Hayley’s cell phone going off next to their heads. “Hayley your phone….” Josh groaned rubbing his sleepy eyes, but does not open them. “Hayles” Josh calls out again when he gets no response the first time. “Hello.” He mutters tiredly into the receiver of Hayley’s phone still with his eyes closed
“Dude where the hell are you and Hayley; band practice stared twenty minutes ago.” Jeremy roared from the other end of the phone, making pull the phone away from his ears.
“Jer you said band practice is at six, it’s only…” Josh gasped as his eyes read bright number on the front screen of Hayley’s phone. “SHIT!” he cursed loudly casing Hayley to awaked in panic.
“What? What happen” Hayley? Shouts. But soon she had caught on to that had happened. Her and Josh had slept longer than expected.
“We’ll be there in ten Jer” Josh says pulling his tired body up from the mattress.
“I can’t believe we slept for almost five hours.” Josh say as he and Hayley drove in the direction of Jeremy’s house….

Sorry this chapter was such a bore, but it will get better in the next chapter, which is where the drama, between, Josh, Tessa, Hayley, and Alex pick up. Yes something bad is going to happen, but I’m not telling;) And someone who has been hardly mentioned with comes to visit. I’m sure you already guessed who he is (ZWF) hints ;)
BTW:Kind of totally random but just so you know yes I did steal the title of this story from the amazing song “Bad Reputation- by Joan Jett. I absolutely love that song 8-D
