Hayley sat on the small bench just in front of window, staring out at the Farro’s house, Josh’s bedroom window where he sat staring back at her to be exact. The two had been texting back and forth for the past two hours; waiting for Josh’s family to show up. Josh had a plan, a plan that could possibly backfire, but a plan that was worth trying if he wanted to continue seeing Hayley without any worries.
Josh smirked as her received an expected text from his little brother Zac. Josh had asked Zac to text him, once they were nearby. Josh quickly texts Zac an: OK then shoving his phone into his pocket before returning his attention back to Hayley. Opening his window Josh motion for Hayley to do the same. Quickly catching on to what Josh was saying without words Hayley raised her window, though the two easily realized that trying to further communicate without words was going to be harder than expected, as Josh pointed at the Williams’s mailbox and Hayley didn’t understand what he was trying to say. Josh grabbed his phone from his pocket and began to text Hayley once more.
To: Hayles
From: Josh
Go outside, and pretend to check the mail or something, I’ll meet you there. ~Josh<3Hayley
To: Joshie
From: Hayley
Ok ~XOXOMrs.FarroXOXO
Hayley nervously typed into her phone, before pressing send. Placing her phone down on her bed next to her Hayley runs her fingers though her freshly dyed orange hair; wondered for the first time: if Josh’s family would actually like her? What if they were all like his grandmother? She nervously chewed into her bottom lip debating if she should call Josh, and tell him that she wasn’t ready to meet his family just yet. Hayley sighs glancing at her phone, and is slightly startled as it begins to ring. It was another text from Josh.
To: Hayles
From: Josh
Don’t worry; my family will love you, just as much as I do cutie ;). ~Josh<3Hayley
Hayley smiled to herself after reading the message; wondering if Josh could possibly read her mind? One thing that Hayley had learned about Josh is that he could read her like an open book, and for some reason she liked it because she never had to wonder is Josh really knew how she felt.
Gathering a bit of courage Hayley slides on her favorite pair of yellow ultragirl jelly flats, nothing was going to stand in the way of her being with her first true love, even if it was his family. Josh was practically and adult, he could be with whoever he wanted and so could she.
Reaching the bottom step Hayley finds her grandfather on his favorite lazy boy watching the fishing channel as he always did when he himself wasn’t fishing. Hayley decides not to be a bother and continues towards the door, were she runs into her grandmother as soon as she pulls the front door open, the two gasp at the unexpected of nearly colliding into one another.
“Sorry grandma I didn’t mean to startle you.” Hayley apologizes.
“It’s fine dear, but where are you off to so early if you don’t mind me asking?” Mrs. Williams says taking in how beautiful her granddaughter looked and how beautiful she was dressed.
Hayley quickly explains to her grandmother about Josh’s family moving to Franklin, her grandmother wishes her good luck, and not a minute later Hayley’s reaches the end of her driveway. Josh waves her over, she hesitantly takes the first step, and the rest doesn’t come any easier Hayleys nerves had defiantly gotten the best of her. Hayley knew that if Josh grandmother who was only inside their house saw them together, Josh would be toast.
“Hi beautiful!” Josh pulls Hayley into his arms.
“Hey!” Hayley mutters softly into Josh’s chest.
“You ok?” Josh asked as Hayley held onto him as if her life depended on it.
“Yeah, just nervous I guess.”
“Hayley….”Josh says in a shocked tone. Hayley glances up at Josh confuse, but don’t say a word, thinking that he would farther explain his little outburst of her name, and that he did. “Hayley Nichole Williams nervous, I can’t believe this.
“What do you mean?” Hayley asked still a bit confused.
“You flipped, off the first time we met, and now you’re nervous to meet my parent’s.” Josh smirks.
“Well you were being a jerk, and these are you parent’s. If they don’t like me, we want be able to see each other anymore.” Hayley says with all seriousness.
“My parent’s will love you babe, just don’t worry about it, it’ll all be ok.” Josh hugs Hayley once more, before they are interrupted by the one person the wished they could have avoided until Josh’s family was there.
“Joshua why are you with this girl again, I already told you I don’t want you hanging out with people like her!” Josh’s grandmother snapped. Josh was beyond pissed now he had officially had enough of his grandmother bad mouthing his girlfriend.
“Hayley is not just some girl, she’s my girlfriend, we’ve been dating for almost five months now, and I don’t give a damn about what you think of her, just know that when mom and dad get here, I’m leaving so you can’t control me anymore.” Josh spat not caring that he was disrespecting his grandmother for the simple facts that she had disrespected Hayley so many times weather it was to her face or behind her back.
“When your parent’s get here they’ll agree with me, once I explain to them how much of a bad influence this WHORE has on you!” Mrs.Farro snapped back her grandson. At this point Hayley herself had, had enough of Josh’s grandmother, she had never met such a hateful person in her life.
“Why do you hate me so much? What have I ever done you? Before Josh moved here you were nothing but nice to me. What did I do?” Hayley spat though her anger, as tears began to slip down her cheeks.
“Oh honey I never liked you, I just felt bad for you and your family, because you’re only going to end up like that junky whore mother of yours, and you’re not good enough for my grandson so stay the hell away from him.” Mrs.Farro Snapped, grabbing hold of Josh’s arm to pull him away from Hayley, however Josh’s didn’t budge.
“You don’t know anything about my mother, so don’t you dare talk about her that way!” Hayley snaps angrily, getting in Josh’s grandmothers face as if she was going to hit her. The three hadn’t notice the black SUV parking on side of the road, until they all heard the voice of Josh’s father.
“What’s going on here, it there a problem mom.” Josh father asked
. “As a matter of a fact yes, your son here insist on being around this whore, when I’ve clearly asked him to stay away from her, because she’s no good for him, and he doesn’t think I know best what’s best for him.” Josh’s grandmother explains to her son.
Mr.Farro signs. “Mom please calm down maybe you should go inside and rest a bit, you’re not in any shape or condition to be stressed out.” Mr.Farro says referring to his mother’s cancer, which is the reason he and his wife had decided to move to Franklin, they also decided not to tell their children until they themselves knew all the details. “Janine and I will have a talk with Joshua.” He assured. She nods and walks way.
“It’s ok.” Josh whispered wiping Hayley’s tears away, and then held her closely as he waited for his parent’s to question him.
After a small chat Josh’s parents had clearly understood what was going on. Josh’s grandmother had been the exact same way with her own son, and did everything in her power to stop Josh’s parents for getting married. After getting to know Hayley a little better Josh’s parents saw nothing wrong with Hayley and Josh dating as long as they promise to respect each other, meaning: no sex until marriage….
************************
Josh’s parent’s had insisted on Hayley joined them for lunch at a nice restaurant, with an ok from her grandparent’s Hayley gladly accepted. Most of lunch was spent getting to know Hayley and catching up with Josh for the family. After lunch Josh pleaded his parent’s to let him show his siblings around town for a bit, even when remembering that he was still grounded by his grandmother.
“Are you coming Zac?” Josh asked as he, Hayley, and his little brother Jon made their way to Hayley’s car.
“Nope.” Zac simply says popping the p.
“Seriously Zac Franklin isn’t as bad as you think it is.”
“Yeah, it’s pretty cool here; you just got to meet the right people.” Hayley adds smiling brightly at Zac and Jon, who seems to have developed an innocent crush on her the moment he met her, Hayley considered it adorable seeing how Jon was only ten.
“I don’t care, I’m not going this place suck, and I don’t want to be here.” Zac snaps pulling his phone from his pocket and began to text his friends, back in New Jerseys.
“No Zachary you are going to go with you brother and Hayley, Your mom, grandparent’s and I have some important things to take care of this afternoon and you’re not staying by yourself.” Mr.Farro explained to his son.
“Dad I’m not a child, I’m fifteen I’m sure I can manage not to burn the house down while you all are out.”
“You’re going that’s final.” His father says sternly. Zac groaned stomping over to Hayley’s car, not saying another word as he climbed in, slamming the door in the process. “I’m going to kill your bother, if he damages my car.” Hayley whisper to Josh and hands him the key.
****************
“Where the hell are we? You told mom and dad we were going to check out the town, not to someone’s house?” Zac finally speaks after twenty minutes of riding in the car.
“This is a friend’s house.” Josh says shutting the car off in Jeremy’s driveway.
“I’m not getting out here, I don’t know these people.” Zac whines slouching down in the backseat.
“So you’re just going to sit out here for hours?” Josh questions his brother immaturity.
“No I’m going to call mom and dad, and tell them you lied.” Zac smirked.
“Zac just get out of the car and stop being such a girl.” Josh says climbing out of the. As well as Hayley and Jon.
“Hey, I take offence to that!” Hayley says playfully. Zac sighs and aggregately climbed from the car. After going through the same craziness’ with Mrs. Davis; Hayley, Josh, Jon and Zac made their way to Jeremy’s room where the band was hanging out as usual.
*****************************
“So will you do it” Jeremy asked, as Taylor finish showing Zac all the drum part to the songs they planned to perform at the owner of Fueled by Ramen son’s birthday party.
“I don’t know, what do I get out of it?” Zac smirked glancing at the cute brunette chatting with Jeremy’s girlfriend Kathryn as well as Sabrina and Hayley. Zac hated to admit it but he was starting to like Franklin already. After meeting Jeremy’s cousin Emily he understood, Josh feeling for Hayley. Zac had known Emily for almost two hours and he felt like he was in love with her.
“Well I could convince Emily to come to the party, and maybe you two could hangout more.” Jeremy hinted quietly so only he and the guys could hear.
“Fine, but only if she comes.” Zac whispers back glancing at Emily once more as she let out the most adorable laugh…
*************************
“I can’t believe I’m doing this, it’s my first night here, and you’re already getting me into trouble.” Zac hissed as he and Josh quietly crept down the stairs. Zac had convinced his parent’s to let him stay at his grandparent’s because sneaking out would be easier. Making it outside safely, everyone even the girls helped load Zac’s drum kit into the back of the twelve passengers van that Jeremy rented earlier.
“I can’t believe this is really happening.” Taylor squealed as Jeremy turned into the driveway of the huge two story white house. Climbing from the van everyone began to unload the equipment, and moved it towards the front door.
“Just do it already.” Kat shouted at Jeremy as he hesitated to ring the doorbell four times.
“Vinnie Fiorello, what can I do for you?” The familiar guy to Jeremy asked over the loud music that was coming for the backyard.
“I’m Jeremy Davis, we spoke over the phone, this is my band Paramore, and were here for the gig.” Jeremy held his hand out for a hand shake. The guy looks at Jeremy confused, and then glances at the rest of the band even more confused, before speaking.
“Yeah you called me a few days ago, and said you guys couldn’t make it, so I found some crappy replacement band. Everyone is now glancing at Jeremy confused, wondering what could have happened.
“There must be a misunderstanding; I swear I haven’t spoken to you since we made the agreement to push the time of the party back to ten o’clock.” Jeremy exclaims.
“Push the time back? I never changed the time of the party, the party started two hours ago, at eight like we agreed on.” Vinnie says.
“Dad can we just end the party those guys such, and all my friends….” A young boy’s voice came from inside the house starts, but stops as he notice his father speaking to someone at the door. The boy that was maybe thirteen or fourteen gasps. “You’re Paramore, the band that I asked for, my party start like two hours ago! What happened?” The kid asked.
“There was a misunderstanding.” Vinnie says to his son.
“Can you guys still perform?” The kid asks with hope and excitement in his voice.
"Sure, if it’s ok with your father?” Jeremy says Hopefully.
“Sure why not, you guys can set up in the back yard, while I get rid of the other band. Hayley, Josh, Jeremy and the rest of the gang signed in relief, at least they’d get to perform something. Walking into the backyard Hayley, Josh, Zac, Jeremy, Taylor, Sabrina, Kat, and Emily all stop dead in their tracks as the realize who the band already on stage was…..
