So it’s only been like a week, and yay I’m updating again. Hopefully I can keep it up, and possibly update more. Seriously I remember when I first started here, I updated like every day now I’m updating like once a month. Anyways I will do my best to update more. Thanks for everyone who’s still reading J
"So what’s the plan?" I ask curiously as Hayley and I had been sitting in my car, for the past five minutes staring out the front windshield. Out of the corner of my eye I notice Hayley shrug.
“Maybe you should just take me home?” she says as if it was a question.
"Do you really think it would be wise of me to take you home half naked, while your mother is still there? I'm pretty sure it'll raise an eyebrow from both of our mothers and a few questions as well."
"Well I can’t go to school like this Josh, for god's sakes I don't have any pants on? And we sure as hell can't sit in your car all day waiting for that evil bitch to leave! Hayley sighs frustrated, before bringing her hands to rest against her forehead.
Gripping the steering wheel tightly, I contemplated on what to do next. Hayley was right she couldn’t go to school and I couldn’t take her home. God knows what her mother would think, and also all the snooty house wives in the neighborhood.
“Where are we going?” Hayley asks as I start up the car.
“I have an idea, but I can’t say it is the best, however it beats sitting in my car all day...
“So your idea is to take me to a record shop?” Hayley questions surprised at where we were.
”Not just any record shop, my record shop.” I say as a matter of a fact.
“Ok, but I don’t see how this fixes the problem. My clothes are still wet.” Hayley states the obvious.
“We’ll go in around back, and I’ll have one of my employee’s take your clothes to the laundry-mat, or I could buy you something else.” I suggested.
“No, the laundry-mat idea is fine.” Hayley rushed. I hid my smile; there was just something about her. Something that shamelessly drew me to her, I knew that the feelings that I began to have for Hayley were wrong, and I’d never do anything to offend, or disrespect her. What happened earlier at my condo was risky; I know that I could never let it happen again. Not unless she was ok with it. Who was I kidding, as crazy and creepy as it sounds Hayley Williams was my new addiction. Since the day I met her I had thought of nothing else.
Sure I am pissed at Zac for the way he’s been treating Hayley, but if it weren't for him being an ass I wouldn't get to be with her right now. I would have to speak with Zac later, and make sure that Hayley spend as little time with him as possible.
“Josh… Josh Hello.” Hayley snaps her fingers in front of my face to gain my attention.
“What?” I ask realizing that I had been day dreaming about her and she was sitting right next to me. It couldn't get any more shameless then that.
“Are we getting out any time soon? I mean I don’t really feel like going to school today, but I’m sure my mother will know, Sooooo..." She finishes waiting for me to respond.
"Uhmmm... Yeah just let me unlock the door, and then you can follow whenever you’re ready.” I say shutting the car off and climbing out of the car. With my keys in hand I briskly walk to the back door of the record shop.
“Dude, why the hell are you coming in through the back and why are you so fucking late?” I was startled by the voice of my best friend, and business partner Jeremy.
“Uhmmm… Uhmmm…” I stutter dumbfounded. How was I going to explain the seventeen year old half naked girl in my car? I knew Jeremy wouldn’t be judgmental and think the worst, but he would defiantly get a good laugh out of the situation.
“What, cat's got your tongue?" He chuckled. "Wait Kat’s my girlfriend, Jenna got your tongue, your heart, and your balls, and you’re… Damn dude you’re all screwed up, by the way how’s the wicked bitch of the east?” Jeremy questions somewhat jokingly, but mostly seriously. He and Jenna had never gotten along. Jenna had tried to convince me that opening a record shop with Jeremy was a big mistake, when really it was the best thing he and I had ever done.
Before I could answer, I felt Hayley’s present’s next to me. Still staring at Jeremy I watched as his mouth dropped open, before saying: “And you’re not Jenna.” His eyes shifted from Hayley to me. “Joshie you got some explaining to do.” Jeremy nodded to Hayley.
“Jer can you give us a minute, I’ll explain later.” I nervously rubbed the back of my neck, before closing the backdoor.
“How about I give you an hour, and do you need me to hang my sock on the door knob so no one interrupts.” Jeremy chuckled walking towards the door. I shook my head completely embarrassed as I followed Jeremy to the door, closing and locking it behind him.
Resting my back against the door I close my eyes and sign in relief. Opening my eyes I witness and equally embarrassed Hayley. “Sorry about that.” I mutter.
“Uh… It’s alright…” Hayley says. Awkward silence filled the air as Hayley and I stood on opposite ends of the room. We were both clearly embarrassed at what had just occurred and neither of us wanted to break the awkwardness, but I had to or we’d be standing here all damn day.
“I should probably take your pants to the laundry-mat, I don’t think anyone is going to handle this situation maturely.” I suggest and strolled across the room to Hayley to retrieve her damp clothes, which she gladly handed over to me.
“Make yourself comfortable, I’ll be back in a few.”
Hayley nods, walking over to the leather couch in the corner and taking a seat. Reaching the backdoor I stopped in my tracks and swiftly turned around. “There are drinks in the mini fridge, and you can have any of the snacks on top of it. The restroom is there, and that’s pretty much it. Hayley nods again, and I began to wonder what happen to that brave spunky girl I met the first day we met. Not that I didn’t like this side of her though. “See you when I get back?”
“I’ll be right here.” She smiled.
“Ok.” I give her one last smile before leaving the building…
After Josh left I found myself sitting board on the leather couch picking my nails and glancing across the room at the photos on the wall, before I found the courage to get up and have a closer look at them. Most of the photos were of who I assumed to be the remainder of his family.
As curiosity got the best of me I began to slowly walk over to Josh’s desk, stopping and glancing at both doors every now and then, listening for anyone coming near either one of them. I knew that what I was about to do was wrong, and if Josh caught me he would probably be furious, but I just had to know.
Slowly taking a seat behind Josh’s desk, I moved the mouse to his computer to wake it up. I frowned at the picture of Jenna sitting on his lap planting a kiss right on his lips. A smile quickly replaced my frown as I found what I was looking for. I continue to smile as I doubled clicked on the icon labeled I-tunes application. Music has always been a big part of my life, and anytime that I’m interested in a guy or dating him I always like to know there music interest, though I never demanded them to tell me. Sure I use to like N-sync in my preteen years but dating a guy that liked them now was a big no no. Clearly I could tell who a guy was and what he was all about just by the taste of his music.
I grinded excitedly as I continued to stroll down Josh’s playlist’s, many of them matched mine. Who would have known we would have so much in common.
“Fuck” I cursed when I accidently hit the play button, when I heard key’s jiggling outside the back door. I was surely busted, as I tried to stop the music from playing. “Shit!” I cursed again, but finally got the music to stop. Thinking fast I quickly moved from behind Josh’s desk, and dashed across the room, and throwing myself onto the couch just as the door opened.
Josh paused as he took one step into the room; I notice a small smile appear on his lips before he continued into the building. “Did I just hear music playing?” he asked handing me my now dry clothes.
“This is a record shop isn't it, and thanks.” I smile holding up my clothes before quickly heading to the restroom to get changed.
“Hope you don’t mind if I keep your shirt, promise I’ll wash it before I return it.” I say exiting the restroom as I decided not to take a chance wearing the small t-shirt that had nearly suffocated me earlier. When Josh didn’t reply my head snapped up to find him, sitting behind his desk with a huge smile plastered on his face.
“What?” I ask innocently.
“Hayley Williams I had no Idea you were such a snoop!” He says in disbelief, but mainly playfully.
“What?” I asked again, knowing that I had been caught.
He turned the computer monitor around to face me. “You were checking out my music.”
“You know you should probably consider getting a password.” I say playfully, and trying gratefully to change the subject. However it was he who told me to make myself at home.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, followed by an unknown voice. “Boss there’s a situation in the front that needs your assistance.” The voice informed.
“I’ll be there in a minute, Jack.” Josh says. “Want to check out the front of the shop?” He asked me.
“Of, course!” I say overly enthusiastic. I followed Josh as he led the way, and I had to admit the shop was really nice. Posters of bands, and other musicians lining the walls, but not completely covering the red and orange painted walls.
“So what do you think?” Josh asked.
“I love it. Is it ok if I look around a bit more?”
“Sure, I need to deal with a customer really quick.” Josh frowns at the guy who’s auguring with another one of his employees.
“Done already?” A new familiar voice questions as I make my way through the alternative rock section.
“Excuse you?” I ask at Jeremy’s rude implied comment.
“I mean you and Josh?” He pushed. You know he has a girlfriend right?
“It’s really none of your business, but Josh and I are only friends, and yes I know he has a girlfriend… for now.” I smirked and walked away, but of course he followed me.
“Feisty, no wonder Josh likes you.” I abruptly stopped causing Jeremy to run straight into me, knocking me to the floor in the process.
"What did he mean Josh likes me? I smile at the thought...
Oh, boy what did Jeremy do? There no doubt that Josh and Hayley like each other, but what happens now that Hayley has some insight that Josh likes her too?
Thanks For Reading
