“After the show and a long one hour meet and greet, the band invited me, few fans and all their roadies to a party outside their tour bus. The party had been going on for at least two hour and I had mostly hung out with Josh, but I lost him when he told me he was going to use the restroom that was more than an hour ago. In a way I felt like he was bored with me and maybe ditched me was the only way he saw to getting rid of me.
I pulled my phone from my back pocket to check the time. “Shit.” I muttered it was nine-thirty five, I had less than twenty-five minutes to get home, and it would take me at least an hour to get back to Franklin. I pushed thought the crowd of dancing people until I found the guys from the band. “I found Jeremy Taylor and Zac, talking with a small group of people off to the side.
“Hey, I thought I’d let you guys know than leaving now.” I said sadly, I didn’t want to leave, but I knew my father. If I didn’t leave now he’s call the cops and report me missing the minute I was late.
“Already.” Jeremy frowns.
“Yeah I have curfew.”
“But, you’re eighteen.” Taylor says confused.
“My father is over protective.” I countered.
“Well it was nice meeting you Sponge Bob.” Zac chuckled pulling me into a bear hug.
“Thanks Zac.” I hugged him back.
“Lay one on me H-Wills.” Jeremy holds his arms open wide.
“Can’t forget about me H-Bomb.” Taylor pulled me into a hug after Jeremy let me go. I giggled at all the nicknames the guys had given me throughout the day.
“You guys are all crazy; it was nice meeting you all.” I said with a smile plastered on my face, this was truly the happiest day of my life.
“Hey you better call us; we don’t want this to be the last time we get to see you little red.” Taylor ruffled my hair.
“Hey.” I giggled playfully shoving his side, before fixing my hair. “Have you guys seen Josh, I kind of wanted to say bye to him as well.
“He’s probably on the bus?” Zac suggest.
“Is it ok if I go and bye to him?” I asked knowing the guys had made the bus off limits to all the party goers.
“Yeah that’s fine.” Zac says.
“Ok, see ya guys.” I said and began to walk in the direction of the tour bus, pulling my phone out to check the time once more. I defiantly had some explaining to do once I got home. Though I could call my dad and tell him that I’m stuck in traffic, once I’m on the road. That’s exactly what I’ll do.
I open the door to the tour bus making sure to close it, once I was inside. “Josh?” I called out, but got no response. I had checked the front lounge, the bathroom and everywhere, before noticing the door to the back lounge was closed. I lightly knocked on the door, but still got no response, maybe Josh wasn’t on the bus; maybe he really did ditch me, but who was I kidding I never had a chance with Josh Farro. I’m just another fan to him. Just as I turn on my heels to walk away I hear loud coughing sound from the other side of the door; it sounded as if someone was choking.
“Josh is that you.” I asked slowly sliding the door open. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Josh sat dazed on the couch, it was like he wasn’t himself, like he didn’t have a clue who I was, or what was going on. “Josh are you ok?” Josh doesn’t respond with words he only stares at, me weirdly.
“Josh?” I questioned seriously thinking he was only joking, but still he did nothing but stare at me. I glanced around, taking in the scene. Something was causing him to act this way, but what? My eyes stopped, landing on the items that was next to him on the couch. A magazine, a rolled up dollar bill, and small razor, and white lines of god know what.
“Josh are you ok.” I say a little louder taking a step closer to him. I couldn’t believe Josh Farro my dream guy, the guy I looked up to was using drugs.
“Come here.” He finally speaks his voice is strong stern and demanding. I stared at him, still not believing my eyes. After not following his command Josh reached out grabbing hold of my hand, completely taking me off guard as he pulled me closer to him wrapping his arm around my waist before pulling me onto his lap.
We sat like that for a minute not knowing what to say or do. Then reality stuck I had leave, not only because of my curfew, but because I knew what drugs could do to people after losing my older brother to drugs a year ago. When using drugs you don’t know what you’re doing, and to be honesty what was happening now was starting to scare the hell out of me. This wasn’t the Josh that I had gotten to know earlier. “Josh I have to go, I just came to tell you bye.” I said trying to stand, but Josh’s grip around my waist only tightened holding me securely in place.
“Do you want to try some?” Josh suddenly asked, as he notice me staring at the content next to him. “I shake my head no.
“Awwwe come on Hayles, don’t be a party pooper.” Josh dips his finger into the white powder before bringing it up to my nose; I quickly turn my head away, causing his finger to jab my cheek. Josh chuckles placing his hand around my neck, pulling me closer to him to where he leans in and runs and his tongue over my cheek to remove the powder.
“Josh I really have to go please let me go.” I began to squirm in his arms; trying to break free of his hold, but he only held me tighter.
“Come on just try it Hayley, and I’ll let you go.” Josh began to get more aggressive as I pulled on his arms trying to get away. Are little struggle continued to become more aggressive till the magazine, the rolled up dollar bill, the razor and the drugs, all spilled onto the floor. That’s when Josh finally released me; I could instantly see anger flash though his eyes.
“You fucking bitch.” Josh shouted dropping to his knees picking up the items, trying his best to retrieve what was left his drugs.” I stood there watching him shocked, what the hell had just happened. “Don’t just fucking stand there, help me.” Josh snapped I jumped startled at his tone towards me.
“I have to go.” My voice is shaky, broken, and barely audible. Tears began to spill from my eyes as I turned to leave; Josh’s strong hand grips my wrist pulling back, pulling me to the floor where he continued to savior the remainder of his drugs while I continued to watch as the tears began to from spilled from my eyes like water falls. After a minute or two Josh got off the floor; taking a seat back on the couch, and began to inhale more of the white powder though his nose.
“All I wanted was you to try it Hayley.” Josh says. Though the tears and the fear, I could tell it was the drugs that was controlling Josh, I knew he wasn’t like this I had just spent most of the day with him. “You want to leave me Hayley?” I nodded glancing at the door that was still wide open. “Then just try it once.” Once again I shake my head no; I wasn’t into drugs at all, not even beer.
“Come on Hayles.” Josh moved to close the open door, what scared me the most is that he locked the door; at that moment I knew this was going to end well. “Come on, just try it.” Josh sits on his knees in front of me, with a smirk on his face. He dips his finger into the drugs once more, when he’s do that, and isn’t really paying much attention to me, I took my chance to escape, it was an epic fail.
I jump from the floor dashing for the door, stupid door I couldn’t get it unlock. I tugged and tugged at the door it wouldn’t budge. I sign in defeat as I feel Josh hand on my shoulder; he turns me around to face him. His eyes are no longer that beautiful chocolate brown; they were blood shot red, maybe an effect of the drugs that he continued to inhale.
Josh grips my shoulder tighter, forcefully pushing me forward; causing me to trip over my own feet and land face into the couch. I began to cry harder, as I feel the weight to Josh on my back. “That’s right take it all in.” Josh growls in my ear, I realized that my face wasn’t on the couch is was on the magazine were the drugs were, and every second I laid there breathing I was in taking more and more of the drugs.
I lie on the couch crying, feeling hopeless and broken as I feel the drugs began to take over of my body. It’s like I was paralyzed, why couldn’t I move? Why couldn’t I speak? Did I want this to happen? Apparently not or else I wouldn’t be crying. Why was this happening? So many questions and no answers.
Josh suddenly flips me over to where I was facing him. “I’m sorry.” He says, leaning forward placing a gentle kiss on my lips. For a moment I thought it was all over, but it was far from it. Josh sat up moving to my feet. A gasp escapes my lips as I feel began to rip away at my tights. Of course I had liked Josh, but this wasn’t the way I wanted to show him that.
********************
“Josh are you in there?” a familiar voice shouts followed by a loud banging sounds. My eyes snapped open, before quickly closing again as I was blinded by the bright lights in the ceiling. I groaned feeling at the heavy weight that covered my entire body. My eyes snapped open again as I realize that the heavyweight on my body was another human being. Where was I? I couldn’t understand what had happened.
“Josh are you in there?” The same voice called out again. I groan in pain as I tried to move this person off me, but there was no use, this person easily outweighed me.
“Help” I called out, hoping the person on the other side of the door would hear; my mouth was dry, and my throat was sore, my words were like whispers, so I doubt whoever was on the other side of the door could hear me. I then did the next best thing, as I manage to free my arm from under the sleeping person. My arm was sore but this was my only hope, I dug my fingernails into the person’s bare back, that quickly awaken the person.
“What the fuck?” he shouted jumping off me. I gasped, it was Josh Farro and he was completely naked; I then glanced down at myself. How could this be? How did I even get here? I began to panic as last night’s events began to replay in my head. Frantically I began to grab my clothes from the floor, then pulling on my skirt and sweater, not bother with the rest; my eyes never leaving his once as I did so. I grabbed my key and shoes from the floor, and dashed for the door. With shaky hands I tugged on the door handle, but like the previous night the door didn’t budge.
“Wow slow down small fry.” Josh chuckled walking over to me; I panicked.
“Stay away from me.” I cried backing away.
“I was only opening the door, what’s wrong with you?” Josh unlocked the door and steps away, and began to pull on his clothes. He acted like nothing had happened.
“Hayley what are you doing her? We thought you left last night.” Jeremy asked, as I staggered into the front lounge. I ignored his word making my way to the door.
“Hayley wait.” Taylor places his hand on my shoulder stopping me from leaving.”
“Don’t touch me.” I shouted shrugging Taylors hand off my shoulder.
“Wow Hayles what’s wrong?” Jeremy asked.
“I have to go.” I muttered pushing the door open, nearly falling down the steps. I practically limped to my car, thought the empty parking lot.
“Are you ok ma’am? No one is supposed to be in the parking lot at this time. Is that your car? I was just about to call a tow truck” the security guard says. I completely ignore him crawling into my car crying and simply drove away never looking back….
